Inspiration In Weird Places

Perhaps you’ve noticed there is something wrong. By now I should have posted Week 7 of training. And yet I have not posted it. Since I have not been able to run there has been no training. It feels like it has been forever since I went for a run….it’s been 10 days so yeah pretty much forever in my book.

I admit I am probably pretty cranky at this point and I encourage avoiding me. For your own safety that is…..

I was seriously considering bumping down to the half marathon instead of the full this year if it wasn’t for the inspiration I receive from my cough drops. Umm yep I said cough drops. They come with little messages like the following:

“You got it in you”
“Keep your chin up”
“Go get it”
“Elicit a few “wows” today.”
“March forward”
“Power Through!”
“Let’s hear your battle cry”
“Put a little strut in it”
“Hi-five yourself”
“Bet on yourself”
“Conquer today!”
“Be Unstoppable”
“Dust off and get up”
“Tough is your middle name.”
“Be resilient”

So I have decided this is the last day I will be sick, that when I wake up tomorrow that I will feel better and my cough will go away and I will not have a mini asthma attack every time I laugh. Take that sickness, I’m taking over! Booya!

  1. Every time I have a bad run or a slow one or skip a workout, I think about dropping to the half. It’s OK, we’re going to make it through that whole course! Hope you’re feeling better soon!
