Week 14 of Training

Alright, I am officially pumped for the upcoming marathon. I am at the end of my training, done with my 20 mile runs and May 15th is just around the corner. If you ask me if I am ready to run this marathon, the answer is no. But that is how I always feel before a marathon. I never actually feel ready to run a marathon no matter how hard or long I train. It’s pretty much become the norm. However, I have put in the time and training and I know my little legs are ready.

So here is a recap of last week’s training.

Monday: Was not feeling too well so ended up doing conditioning instead of running. Situps, pushups, squats and lunges.

Tuesday: Speedwork, 3-1 miles @ 6:47, 6:44 and 6:42, 2-800s @ 3:16 and 3:18, 3-400s @ 1:31, 1:27 and 1:26.

Wednesday: Easy 6 miles and conditioning

Thursday: 2 miles @7:30 pace, 2 miles  @8:00 pace and 2 miles @7:30 pace. Then vball immediately afterwards.

Friday: Rest day!

Saturday: Hermes 10 miler! Race recap coming soon! Ran 2 miles warmup, 10 miles of the race and 8 miles after=20 miles! And then played some touch football.

Sunday: Easter and easy 6 miles. Oh and also played Just Dance 2 for an hour, that’s gotta count for some cardio.

Total Mileage: 45

Next race on the schedule is the Lakewood Ambulance Chase 5K. Probably my last race before the Cleveland Marathon.

  1. Nice week of training! Jenn and I ran 9 before the 10 miler on Saturday and did the final mile to get our twenty after. Hope you had a good race!!

  2. Well I’m glad you don’t feel prepared. This is my first marathon, and I’m also done with my long runs. I absolutely don’t feel ready. Oh wells! I’m ready to rock it no matter what. My goal: cross the finish line! (:
