I’m Baaaack!

After Sunday’s marathon I obviously needed a couple days off to rest my body and apparently I rested my blog as well, oops. Monday was the normal super sore day where I move really slow, struggle with the stairs and eat pizza for dinner. Tuesday is the day where mentally I am able and willing to run but physically the legs just aren’t having it. Wednesday I am usually back to running a slow easy run. However, on Wednesday I opted for a yoga class at Inner Bliss with Mollyberries and flag football with the SuperFast JellyFish. Ran alot in football so that has to count for something. Also took an elbow to the face so I have a small cut that probably looks like a zit and a red bump that looks like I forgot to put on blush.

I am happy to report that my legs feel 100% and that shin pain during the marathon has not bothered me since. However, I did a lot of stretching and icing just to make sure.

So now that I’m Baaaaack I have a couple runs to get in and then taper for The Buffalo Marathon in 10 days! Yep, I am that crazy runner girl. I am pretty pumped for The Buffalo Marathon and really not sure what to expect just that it’s flat…although I think the elevation looks about the same as Cleveland. Slightly nervous about tapering all over again. Especially since I just tapered like last week, it’s messing with my head!

How many days do you usually take off after a big race?

  1. aahhh! All I want to do in life is start running again, but I think I should wait until I know more about my foot situation. It still hurts, but it seems to be slooooowly hurting less and less. Meh. How many runs will you do before Buffalo?

  2. Take all the time you need, don’t want to push it too soon. I will probably only do 3 runs (including 1 longish run 10-12 miles) and then taper again.
