Oh Yeah, I Forgot To Tell You That….

I am going to VEGAS!!!!!!!

For The World’s Largest Night Time Running Event, aka, The Las Vegas Marathon!

The only reason I waited so long to tell you was because I wanted to make sure I was 100% sure I was going (which I have been for a while just wanted all the travel deets taken care of) So I am now registered for the race, hotel is booked and flights have been arranged!

This is my first time going to Vegas so I need lots of tips.

What are your favorite things to see, do and eat in Vegas? What should I avoid?

  1. I stayed at Caesar’s when I went a few yrs ago and it was amazeballs. The swimming pools are named ‘The Garden of the Gods’! So pretty and relaxing. The Forum Shops in Caesar’s are really fun if you want to oogle expensive luxury clothing and accessories. Pure Nightclub is overrated and lame. I had a blast at Studio 54 in MGM, ended up partying and dancing until 6am and had no idea! Go to see a show, I saw Zoomanity – the most risque of the Cirque du Soleil shows – it was awesome, and hosted by Drag Queens! The Thunder from Down Under is a male review show that left me in tears I was laughing so hard b/c it was utterly ridiculous. The Manchild probably wouldn’t enjoy that though…ummmmm…The Fountain Show outside the Bellagio at night is soooo awesome, must see. That’s all I’ve got for now. I may think of some more!

  2. OH! And these really creepy men carry around trading cards of their call girls, they stand on all the street corners and slap them in their hands and will try to hand them out to you. It is gross and totally annoying! Also if you want yummy asian bistro food/atmosphere, go to Tao in the Venetian, and if you want a fruity drink, order the Tiger Lilly, it is SO good! And if you want to play the slot machines, do the Wheel of Fortune ones, they are the best!

    1. I think that the creepy men carrying the trading cards of call girls is one of the funniest parts of Vegas. I love the way they slap them in their hands. I tried (unsuccessfully) to buy the hat one of those guys was wearing because it said something like “Escorts to Your Door in 30 Min, $99” or something like that. He wouldn’t budge.

  3. My good friend who lives out there wanted to me run this marathon so BADLY. He was even trying to find out ways to get me out of work. LOL!

I’m super jealous, but I’m sure it’s going to be awesome! Can’t wait to hear about it!

  4. I love Vegas. I’m actually working on my scrapbook from Vegas. Make sure to visit Fremont Street, the light show is amazing and I won at some of those casinos. I agree with Molly, Zumanity was great!

  5. Where are you staying??! Are you running the full or half? This is so exciting!
There is so much to do in Vegas. I’m not much of a gambler but that doesn’t matter because there is so much to see! You have to see a show and SHOP! 🙂

  6. We stayed at the MGM and loved it! Amazing pools and restaurants there, but it is HUGE inside. Be prepared to eat, drink, and shop post race. I am not the biggest gambler but I did get lucky ($50) on roulette. Roulette and video blackjack were my games. Now I am considering doing the Vegas half even more…
