So I Skipped My Run

I really really hate to skip any of my runs but Tuesday night my legs were pretty tired and the cutest sister in the entire world had a softball game so I decided to ditch running for a day.

I am not sure if my sister’s team has a name but they have some awesome pink cut off shirts. I wonder if she’ll let me borrow it when the season is done.

The league is 6-7 year olds, so they have the coaches pitch and catch for the kids and there are a few parents out in the field directing the kids. My sister actually hit the ball pretty well, she obviously didn’t inherit my softball skills…or lack of.

She made it to first, second and third…

And I swear she was on third for like 30 minutes, the sun even started to set and I had to use a pole to block the sun…and you thought I was getting all artsy getting the pole in my shot, pshhh.

It was so cute when she ran her helmet would come off so she had to hold it on.

In between innings (all 3 of them), I attempted to take pictures of the dogs. Getting 3 young dogs to stand still is impossible, I was lucky enough to get 1 non blurry picture of them. The 2 white ones are my Mom’s babies, Dixie (the white one on the left) and Noki (the smaller white and brown spotted one on the right).

Look at her being all attentive…and smiling for the camera because she knows I am going to blog about it. Good thing she was paying attention when the ball came her way and she was able to score an out! Woot Woot! Go Sissy!

Manchild is the only one with a shirt off, flashing gang symbols.

While I was watching my sister play softball, I dropped this gangsta (aka Manchild) off to play some hoops. I swear it looks like he is flashing some gang symbols in this pic.

I felt a little guilty after not running all day Tuesday, even though I needed the rest. So I ran twice on Wednesday and played football.

If you get a chance go check out RunJodiRun today because umm, it features me in the Thumbs Up Thursday!

Do you skip feel guilty skipping your runs…and then run double the next day?

  1. I definitely feel guilty about skipping runs! I try not to let it bug me, but sometimes I almost feel defeated by it. How the heck do you have time to run twice AND play football? You absolutely amaze me 🙂

  2. I’m in this situation right now. I skipped yesterdays workout. I already completed todays workout this morning. Should I do todays workout at lunch today? Should I just let it go? Should I give up my rest day and do it tomorrow? Time will tell…

  3. I do feel guilty if I skip. Although, I feel much worse after a bad run in which I know my effort is lacking and I am making every excuse not to be running. I am more the “quality over quantity” type

  4. I never feel guilty when I skip a run. In fact, I’ve skipped every run for as long as I can remember and I have no intention of running today!

I am impressed with all of you runners out there and am just as happy to cheer you on!!
