Training Week 5: And the 20 miler that didn’t happen :(

There will be more explained about “20 miler that didn’t happen” in my River Run 1/2 marathon recap. Short story=it didn’t happen 😦

Monday:  Oktoberfest 5K plus a few miles= 8 miles
Tuesday: 6 miles
Wednesday: 5.5 Smiles and vball
Thursday: Rest
Friday: 6 Miles (2 miles at 7:47 pace, 2 Miles at 7:30 pace and 2 Miles at 7:47 pace)
Saturday: Swim (not sure how far, will work on that) and football
Sunday: Half Marathon+ 3 miles=16

Total Mileage:  41.5 Miles

I was going to take off this next weekend from racing but after Sundays 1/2 marathon I am out for revenge and have added another race to my schedule. I originally was going to do the 10K but scratched it off the list since I have a wedding the day before. But I have added it back to the schedule and will be doing the 1/2 marathon and will be completing my 20 miles that day instead. Hello Sandy Ridge 1/2 marathon!

  1. Hey lady! great week of training and KILLER paces on Friday! I like that you’ve added the 20 miler back in! I haven’t been running that long…but two back to back weekends of racing 1/2 marathons?! Yikes…do you think that’ll be a little rough on the body? Maybe just do the 20 LR at a semi slower pace than your 1/2 race pace? That body needs some recovery!

    1. Thanks! I am very happy I was able to add the 20 miler back in. My body recovers really fast and does better at higher mileage so after the 1/2 this sunday the miles after that will be really really slow

  2. Looking forward to your River Run recap. I am quite certain I saw you running as I was on the trail doing my 20 miler. I am also thinking you are in one of the Hermes Pictures on Facebook but I haven’t had a chance to really look. Great job listening to your body….no sad faces necessary!!
