I’ve had a couple people ask how I got to be “The Logo”. After the Marathon last year, Cleveland Marathon tweeted if anyone was smiling in their photos. I instantly replied that I was. I always look like death in my photos so I was excited that my pictures came out good for once. Cleveland Marathon asked what my bib number was and that was it. I didn’t hear anything after that and to be honest, it slipped my mind.
Early fall though I got an email from Cleveland Marathon with a PDF attachment of me on the promotional material. I was ecstatic! They informed me that I would be on those little postcards that they give out at other expos/get in the mail etc and also that I would be in the Running Times magazine. When my friend John found out, he instantly gave me a new nickname, “The Logo”. I laughed and thought it was funny but had no idea that it would stick.
Long story short, smile in your pictures. My picture was taken at around mile 25 and in the rain. The fact that I was actually smiling is a miracle. Also probably helped that I had my autism jersey on that day. Looking at past “logos”, it seems most have plain shirts with no writing on them.
Bill was pacing the 4:10 group on Sunday but still had time to stop for a picture. His mini me as well. (Hope he is a future runner/marathoner)
Bill also sent me a pic his sister took with me and Steph from Hungry in CLE sent me one too.
Mase probably thought I was kidding when I said I was putting this on the blog. Nope! HI!
Tonya sent me this picture of her mini me (they seriously look like twins!). Tonya helped to raise money for the Autism group this year. She also ran her first marathon on Sunday. Can’t wait to talk her into another!
Fellow #dirtyrunner Uncle H and Boston marathoner, Ryan, I think Uncle H is a little intimidated by my height.
Steph won my blog giveaway for a free entry into the marathon this year. Can you believe she has 4 little ones and still trains for a marathon. Talk about no excuses!
Thanks for playing everyone! Glad I was easy to find at the expo.
