  1. That stinks! We registered at Crate and Barrel, Williams Sonoma, and Macy’s and had great experiences everywhere. Because I have a Macy’s card, we earned credits from registry purchases and got a $160+ gift card after the wedding!

Totally love my Jimmy Buffet margarita maker. Not practical, but fun. I registered for a lot of pantry containers and have yet to transfer stuff into them.

  2. We did Target and Kohls. Target has a funny return policy tho. My advice would be whatever store, be sure to register for gift cards. It’s so hard to decide what you really need or use and we ended up thinking we wanted waffle makers and coffee makers and then never used them. It’s only like a year after you are married you might start to realize what you really need! BBB – overpriced IMHO, so we didn’t even consider them. Good luck!

  3. Wow! That’s crazy! I’ve been thinking we should start doing this too so I’ll be sure to avoid BB+B. I’ve been using MyRegisty.com – you can compile all your registries into this one spot and even register for things on Etsy, or anywhere else on the web.

  4. I’ve never registered for anything, but thanks for the future tip about BB&B! Sounded terrible for sure! And love the Target registry with phone idea, so high tech and awesome! Hopefully future registries go well for you!

  5. Oh wow that’s weird! We registered at C&B (did one of their store is closed registry events), BB&B and Target. C&B is my FAV!! The 10% completion card you get after you’re married applies to ANYTHING. It doesn’t HAVE to be on your registry to get the 10% off. BB&B we did not have someone do that to us. We were free to roam, did and ultimately I added a bunch online. Was easier that way. Then annoying I ended up picking things that were online only. Oh well! It worked out in the end!

  6. The items we use most are our knives. Good knives aren’t cheap, so there’s no better way to get them than by having someone else pay for them! The item we use least (ahem, not at all) is a set of decorative beveled mirrors from Target. They’re still in the original box. Joe actually just mentioned on Sunday that we ought to get around to finding a place to hang them.

Although they only offer kitchen goodies, I suggest doing a registry at Williams-Sonoma. They have so much awesome stuff and they, as most places should, gave us freedom to boop away with our scanner. Good luck!

  7. We registered at Kohls and Bed Bath and Beyond. We had a similar experience to yours with registering at BB&B(I think it is typical and we were actually warned by friends before we went to expect it to take 2-3 hours) although our salesperson only took us around the fine china area and gave us a general tour of the store. She left us along with the guns after that, but it took her little spiel about 1.5 hours! Even though that part was a headache I am happy we did register there because of the wide variety of household stuff they carry. Kohls I would definitely recommend to register. Super easy and they offer I think 10% off if the person buying spends over $50.

  8. ugh – what an annoying waste of your day. i think i avoided this frustration there because i flat out said we didn’t have a lot of time and just wanted to walk around by ourselves (we had all night but i was borderline hangry!).

good luck! i’ve heard Macy’s is great, too.

you’ll looooove the C&B stuff you get.

  9. The trip to Crate and Barrel sounded nice! Oof, sorry BBB was such a nightmare. I probably would have just left. I definitely would not call that a bridezella moment! We registered at Target and REI — haha, so serious!

  10. hello!,I love your writing very much! percentage we keep in touch more about your post on AOL?
I need a specialist in this space to unravel my problem.
