Did you know there is a farm in Ohio City? Just down the way from the West Side Market. I knew about the farm in Ohio City and driving down West 25th street you can see part of the farm from the street. However, up until a few weeks ago, I had no idea how big the farm was!
These pictures are only from one section of the six acre farm. A SIX ACRE FARM IN THE CITY! This farm supplies local restaurants with fresh food and has a spot at the West Side Market (Rooted in Cleveland). Refuge Response, Cleveland Crops, Central Roots and even Great Lakes Brewing Company have spots of land at this local city farm.
Ryan won tickets to attend a Plated Landscape dinner and one of the locations was the Ohio City Farm. So a few weeks ago we had the chance to get a tour of the farm and have one tasty dinner!
With an awesome Cleveland View!
Pickled Serrano, radish, cilantro oil. I could have ate 10 of these. All dishes were paired with wines. It’s a miracle I wasn’t hungover the next day!
Roasted beets, goat cheese, pecans, shaved onions and sherry vinaigrette.
Cherry tomato soup.
Potato and leek salad, blistered shishito braised greens, chimichurri. Blame the wine for my finger in those last 2 pictures.
Sugar cookie and peachy goodness. I love dessert!
As the night went on the view just kept getting better.
Overall, we had a great time and it was a perfect night out. I know it is a rather high price to attend these dinners but I recommend everyone do it at least once. We loved the tour of the farm and learning so much about it. We had a great meal, putting my wife skills to shame and I even looked online to see if they were hiring because it would be great to work for such an awesome organization!
