My start to Cleveland Beer week did not go as I had planned with a sinus infection. Saturday instead of going to Tremont Taphouse for the Bell’s tap takeover, I went to check out Fat Heads new brewery and tap house in Middleburg Heights.
I had peeked at a few photos before I went and was excited to see it in person.
I expected the place to be small and was worried we wouldn’t find a seat. However, the place is huge! There are picnic tables, barrel tables, tall tables and a bar to sit at.
We were provided with safety glasses as a precaution. In the picture below, I wasn’t mad, just trying to take a selfie mid tour without anyone noticing.
Tour guide Eric tried to pretend he didn’t know everything about beer and brewing. That was a lie, he knew what he was talking about, gave a very informative tour and let us ask questions. I was impressed and would even go on another tour.
To say this place was clean is an understatement. It’s spotless. I always expect breweries to be dark, dingy and as dirty as a garage. This place is bright, clean and welcoming.
The Tap House at Fat Head’s opened on October 18th, just in time for Cleveland Beer week. They offer a limited menu of apps, pizzas and sandwiches. Some guys at the bar got a pizza and it looked really good.
The Tap House is open Wednesday-Sunday

Have you been to the Fat Heads Tap House? Fat Heads Brewery in North Olmsted? Fat Heads in Pittsburgh? (I’ll forgive you for hang Sicking out with Steelers fans) and they are opening one in Portland, OR
