Cleveland Marathon Training Week 6: Tough Week but I have a GIVEAWAY!

This week was just a week from hell in my personal life. (Hell being our car being stolen and turning our life upside down). I think the only reason I got my workouts in still was because it was the only normal thing I could still control this week. Running might have been the one thing to keep me sane last week. Although we might want to use sane lightly considering I ran my 18 mile long run on the treadmill! That’s a new treadmill distance PR for me.

Monday: 5 Mile run and 1 hour spin

imageTuesday: Speed work on the treadmill 7-800s  (6.4 total miles with Warm up and Cool down) and 900 meter swim.
Wednesday: 5 miles in the am.
Thursday: 3 mile run in the am, 2 mile run in the pm.
Friday: 18 treadmill miles and for the first time this training season I didn’t get sick to my stomach after my long run.
Saturday: 5 mile run with speedy Francesca and 900 meter swim

Sunday: 1 hour spin

Total mileage: 44.4

Strength training completely fell off the grid last week but I have plans to do that tonight after my 5 mile run. I hope my body enjoyed the week off from that.

    Congrats on that super long treadmill run! Though it doesn’t sound like you need any inspiration, here are some of my favorite running tunes: Pompeii by Bastille, All these Things That I’ve Done by the Killers, The Man by Aloe Blacc.

  2. And hooray for a great giveaway! I think I’d like to run the half marathon. I don’t know if I’m ready for a full again – I trailed for the Cleveland full 2 years ago and got injure and found out 2 days before the race. Not sure if I can handle that again! BUT maybe a free entry would convince me to sign up for the full?

  3. I’m so sad about your car 😦 I just always live in this bubble where bad things don’t happen to good people. Obviously that’s not the case, but man. I can’t wait to see pics of bodhi with that cast off. Poor guy won’t remember how to move without it!

  4. OMG, that is horrible I am so sorry about your car. That is the 2nd horrible story I have heard since yesterday (I just read another blogger whose house was broken into). Seriously, what is wrong with this world! I hope everything works out and insurance takes care of things!

    Solid week of training, glad that your stomach was still good after 18 on the treadmill!!! Did you buy a spin bike for home? (You probably posted about this and I am blanking on it..)

  5. I would plan to do the 1/2 marathon! It would be my first. I am going to also use it as a funraiser for the Susan G Koman foundation in honor of a good friend recently diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. Thanks so much for this giveaway!
